June 2021 Musings... 30th June 2021…I hope this blog update finds you well! All is flourishing in my little bohemian heaven right now! I’ve got into a really balanced routine of doing general work in the morning, and enjoying creative pursuits in the afternoon. I’m working on a couple of mantra songs with my guitar and I’m tentatively considering uploading them to YouTube at some point this year; though I need to wait until I’ve got all the website work completed because that’s a priority! So that may be something to look forward to! But in the meantime, let’s inquire of the tarot and find out what’s in store over the coming days. I’ve choosing the Dark Mansion Tarot for today’s spiritual guidance reading for the collective. It’s a gothic-style deck with real “Nightmare Before Christmas” vibes (a bit like me!) Let’s explore… The dominant energy influencing us at this time is represented by the Temperance card. This reflects a period of balance and calm – something we’re all in need of after the exciting & revelatory energies of the combined Solstice Portal & Strawberry Supermoon! This is a period for healing, relaxation, grounding and assimilation. The energy is offering us an opportunity to get back in touch with ourselves and fully digest our recent experiences. Did the intense lunar energies have you questioning your sanity? Did they hyper-sensitise your triggers? Were your dreams strangely vivid and disturbing or confusing? Now’s the time to sit with yourself and see what you learnt about yourself during the celestial turbulance! The second card offers us the key to bringing through the most progressive opportunities available from the current energetic landscape and this comes in the form of the Judgement card. This card emphasises aspects of the first in its apocalyptic potential. If the idea of an apocalypse conjures up images of zombie invasions & extreme end-of-the-world scenarios, don’t worry! That’s not what we’re going for here. We’re looking at the potential for making a change in direction. As we work through recent experiences, we’re called to consider our options dispassionately and realistically. Something we couldn’t do while our emotions were stirred up by the fluctuations in the flow of energy. If the dance of the stars exerted what felt like a negative influence on you, now’s a good time to look at your life and see if you can make a change that will prevent a repeat. Look at the past and consider the steps that led you to this point. And using your insight and intuition, reflect on the path you wish to take from here. Perhaps you don’t have a destination (destiny) in mind. Don’t worry! You don’t need one! You can’t decide what the future holds, but you can decide how you will approach it. Maybe you can change your focus so that rather than react to life, you respond to life. The final card expresses the shadow energies that might block us from the potent promise of the first two cards, and today the 8 of Cups cautions us against ignoring our feelings or failing to meet our responsibility to ourselves by not addressing any emotional upset we experienced over the last few weeks. The opportunity for healing and spiritual growth is available but we need to face the reality and sit with our feelings (especially the painful ones) because they will point us in the direction of places we need to give ourselves healing. Listen to your heart - and be kind to yourself! These cards powerfully express the qualities of the energetic tides we’re currently plumbing! For myself, I’ve been working a great deal with Lemurian and Oceanic energies over the past couple of months. This is an additional post rather than one of my tarot guidance for the collective posts, but there are so many updates that I thought I’d put it all together in one place! I’ve been having a very productive week so far. I’ve made progress on the Mayastar website redevelopment; and although I’m still not far enough into the workload to be able to set myself a realistic deadline, it’s very motivating to see things taking shape. I end up going down many rabbit holes looking for snippets of code I can use to make it easier for people to share my site on Facebook and things like that. But when it’s all done, it’s going to be fantastic! The new site will be as easy to navigate as Maya Muses & the Maya Magickal website (which I finished earlier this year!). There are a number of courses that won’t be transferred to the new website though. These can still be purchased from the Mayastar site until the redeveloped website goes live, from the Archive Menu. At this stage, I think I’m maybe a 3rd of the way through the work – so you have at least a couple of months to buy from that list if anything interests you. I’ve also been hearing from customers about the new facility PayPal have implemented. My checkout process for Mayastar Academy and Maya Magickal Spells are both through PayPal; and now, if you have an account in good-standing with PayPal, you can choose to pay for applicable orders in monthly instalments! The arrangement is with PayPal so it’s not something I offer, but something PayPal offer to customers that have PayPal accounts. The added flexibility can be a real bonus because it allows people to make larger purchases and budget for them. The option isn’t available for Personalised Packages though. The Personalised Package Discount is applied to orders of 3 or more options if you email me with your order. The discount is calculated at 20% for 3 or more options; 25% for 6 or more; and 30% for 10 or more. On receipt of your order, I send a PayPal invoice reflecting the relevant discount so that you can pay securely online. But this discount only applies for orders paid for in one lump sum, so if you wish to pay in monthly instalments, you can’t benefit from that particular discount in combination with the flexible PayPal payment plan. Here, I offer spiritual guidance for the collective through tarot readings, every Wednesday and Saturday. It’s my intention that you find this guidance when it applies to you and when it will assist you most profoundly. If my words vibe with you and inspire your spirit, take them with you! But leave behind anything that doesn’t feel like it speaks to your soul. Today I’ll be drawing from the Black Cats Tarot. This is another Rider-Waite-Smith- based deck from Lo Scarabeo, but with all the characters depicted as cats! It sounds like it might be quite a frivolous and fun deck but it actually conveys real depth and mystery. I find it to be a very well-balanced deck with some original takes on traditional themes…just the way I like it! Let’s explore… The Page of Cups recommends us to be open to the communications of our higher self right now; listen to your intuition because it’s providing you with guidance and new ideas that will support you in your spiritual goals. Look for symbols that repeat themselves in your dreams and meditations over the next few days as these could provide you with new direction. Pay particular attention to the feeling of energy in the heart-chakra centre – if you find your energy contracting around certain people or in certain places, it may indicate areas for change or places in your life that you need to set up some healthier boundaries. But most importantly, trust yourself and explore your intuition because it’s your spiritual sat- nav! The second card offers us the opportunity to dive deeper into the energies of the first card; today this comes in the form of the Judgement card. This card represents a reckoning, the end of a cycle, or the beginning of a new one. It’s about moving forward and letting go of the shackles of past ways of being. Sometimes, it’s just about tying up the loose ends so the past doesn’t follow you all the way into next week. The key to a life of progress, growth and success is to adapt and through the Judgement card energy, we’re encouraged to let go of what doesn’t serve us in order to make way for a better life. If you can stay conscious of your direction, the changes and choices you make will steer you ever closer to your divine energetic blueprint & a meaninfully authentic life. I also draw a card to see impediments and challenges we may face in manifesting the promises of the first card, however, today this card is the Sun card! I hope you all had a beautiful Summer Solstice & are enjoying the intense Strawberry Supermoon energies! They’re really building to a crescendo just now, with the actual full moon taking place tomorrow night; and I’ve got everything set up for those taking advantage of the special working of the Killing Moon Karmic Reversal 30 Day Ritual Intensive. Capitalising on the last Supermoon of 2021, this cycle promises to be deeply healing. The Killing Moon clears away negative bonds that form connections to bad experiences/memories, toxic relationships & trauma to facilitate the free-flow of life-force energy through the energy body and through all spheres of life. This potent working also resolves and dissolves negative bonds that are created by those that wish us harm and even addresses attachments to non-physical entities! The Bonefire Tarot is a deck I was drawn to for a long time because of the art-style; however, I was put off by the glossy finish and larger sized cards and ended up sitting on the fence about it for at least a year! As it turns out, the larger cards don’t really bother me…it may be because of the black borders - something I really enjoy! Also, the gloss finish is more like the lamination on the Carol Herzer deck I have – and that’s one of my soul-decks! So, this deck has chosen itself for today’s reading for the collective. Pull up a seat, and let’s muse on this… The principal energy we’ll be working with over the next few days is the lunar current. Now, this card can be a bit negative and may indicate illusion, deception or fantasy…but in the current context, it certainly applies to the intensifying energy of the Strawberry Supermoon! This is an opportunity for deep emotional healing and release. The tides of the Solstice mark the beginning of the solar ebb, but right now, as the lunar energies build to their zenith, there may be some emotional instability and upset. Look out for things that trigger you over the coming days because you’re liable to be a bit over- sensitive. It’s probably best to decide in advance that you’ll allow your emotions to flow (as opposed to suppressing them), but won’t get too fixated on them or over- analysing them. It may help to express your emotions through a creative process such as writing, singing or art so you can acknowledge and explore your emotional landscape without getting lost in it! The second card offers us and opportunity to go deeper into the potential of the first card and in this case, it’s the 3 of Swords. This is the card of heartbreak, heart-ache and grief. It’s also the card that comes up for me around ovulation - so for me, this also ties to those potent lunar currents! This card can express that feeling you have when your hormones are off and everything’s a bit more upsetting than usual. Well, this week, don’t resist your sadness because, by the light of the Strawberry Supermoon, you may discern new truths about yourself by exploring your triggers. Perhaps if you find yourself feeling out of sorts, you can look at the discomfort as being a helpful guide to where you need healing right now. There are great opportunities for spiritual growth and awakening in the swirling celestial tides! And finally, the card that represents the biggest impediment to the realisation of the promise of the first card is the 7 of Coins. This card reminds us to work when there’s work to do, but to stop when there’s not! If you tend to over-work or try to “keep busy”, it may block you from connecting with your heart centre and accessing the healing potential of the current energy flows. Likewise, if you tend to procrastinate, apathy might block you from feeling your way through your emotions. But right now, it’s your conscious commitment to self-discovery that will take you to the next level, if you can tear yourself away from work & distractions for a bit! It’s definitely shaping up to be a magickal week! The high energies are really building now and if you’re sensitive to subtle energy and celestial tides, I’m sure you’re feeling it too! The possibilities feel boundless right now and opportunities for spiritual awakening and deep healing are in the offing! Let’s see what guidance the tarot has for us today. I’ve chosen the Zillich Tarot. It’s a Thoth-based deck so it has a few deviations from the Rider-Waite structure. This deck comes in a tinned version with small cards; but the simple art-style works perfectly with the smaller size! It’s a great travel deck too! Lovely! The primary energy we can tap into this week to enhance our spiritual and personal progress is reflected in the Prince of Wands (the Knight of Wands). The character in this card looks to have fiery phoenix wings and a red crest on his head; he holds a staff with the head of a phoenix on it, reflecting the focus of his will. The phoenix is a mythical bird, born of the ashes of its former self. It represents regeneration, cycles of growth and innovation. Are you moving into a new cycle? I think a lot of us are with the Strawberry Supermoon Solstice energy! And the cosmic influences at play in your life right now, support your growth and evolution. It’s time to believe in yourself and open your heart to the possibilities. You can exceed your own expectations, if you can let go of your belief in those expectations! Now may be the perfect opportunity for you to mindfully move beyond your comfort zone! The second card of the reading recommends we do this by grounding the high energy into our lives with creativity. This might be in the form of a hobby, making art or learning something new. Perhaps you feel moved to express yourself in poetry or journalling as a means to explore your emotional landscape? Channelling our energy into creative pursuits is like putting our money where our mouth is. It shows the universe that we’re serious about this! And when we’re doing something about it, the universe is inspired to lend its support, guidance and encouragement too. How might you communicate your intentions through your actions? The Four of Discs (Pentacles), reveals the potential blocks we might face and this card warns us against attempting to hold onto the high frequency energy and potential by containing it! The energies at play in our lives right now are flowing through us and are not for us to store up for a rainy day. The energy is available for use right now but to harness it and witness it’s power to transform our lives, we need to put it to good use in the present. Energy can become stagnant and stale if we don’t allow it to flow. The best way to keep the energy flowing is to deliberately channel it into activities that allow us to put a bit of heart and soul into our lives. This is a mass- market deck, published by Hay House and is a real gem! The quality of the card stock and box is almost as impressive as the imagery. It has a really bohemian, hippie vibe – but it’s also very modern, while staying true to the traditional card meanings. Beautiful, bountiful & brilliant! The dominant energy influencing us right now comes in the form of the 7 of Cups. This card can indicate delusion or being swept up in a fantasy world to the exclusion of a balanced life. However, this particular depiction of the card shows a man with seven, downturned bowls in front of him. He looks like he’s deeply considering his options and the snakes and ladders around the bowls remind us that not all of our choices lead to growth. From this card, and with the current energies at play due to the Strawberry Supermoon Solstice Portal, this card reflects a period of great potential. There are many options open to us and we can explore these in our imagination. But be realistic and grounded; don’t get too caught up with all the “what ifs” or put yourself under unnecessary pressure to make unnecessary decisions. Sometimes these things fall into place naturally and getting yourself too emotionally involved complicates life! It may be a good time to explore the possibilities in your mind but the second card gives us a clue as to how we might best do this…the 5 of Wands speaks of conflict in the area of passion and will and this is the energy that will help us access the potential blessings of the first card. If we can confront the uncomfortable feelings and the inner conflicts that can have us feeling like we’re always doing something we don’t really want to be doing, we can align ourselves with new ways of doing things. The 7 of Cups offers us an opportunity to find a solution to a source of discomfort or stress in our lives. And finally, the Ace of Swords represents the most likely impediment to our success and reveals a risk of getting too focused on the details and overthinking things. The 7 of Cups recommends us to use our imagination to find a new way to do things, but the Ace of Swords warns us not to get too caught up in expectation and looking for the results. I don’t function well with the heat usually but this year I bought a fancy air-cooler, and so far, I have to admit, it works so well that I’m kicking myself for not getting one last year when I first looked into them! The summery vibes have had me reaching for Paulina Cassidy tarot decks a lot, and today, I’ve chosen the Spiritsong Tarot for our guidance. It’s an animal-based deck but Paulina’s ethereal style makes it feel quite gentle and whimsical! Let’s explore… The dominant energy making its presence felt for us over the coming days is reflected in the 4 of Crystals (Pentacles). This card features a beaver, focused on his work and manifesting the dam of his dreams! This card can indicate the holding and demonstrating of one’s personal power; the creation of healthy boundaries and the independence that comes when you put your life in order. It can be a fine balance to create a structure in your life that will help you to flourish. But routines, rules and rituals can help you to achieve your goals and create a sense of security and accomplishment. Now may be a good time to take an overview of your life and see if there are areas that would benefit from a bit more structure…and perhaps, see if there are any that could benefit from a little de-structuring to. The second card offers us the key to obtaining the real benefits of the first card and in this case it’s represented by the Temperance card. This card emphasises the recommendations of the first card: looks for opportunities to bring more balance to your life by making adjustments to your routine that will serve you better. Aiming to fill every minute of every day with productivity is counter-productive; if you’re very fixed on scheduling your work time, why not be a bit fixed on scheduling your rest time too? And finally, the third card reveals the potential challenges we might face. And today, these are reflected in the shadow- aspect of the Nine of Shells (Cups) cards. This is the card of wishes coming true and deep fulfilment. Even in its shadow-aspect, it’s not all doom and gloom because it indicates the possibility of fast manifestations and powerful healing! However, with the high energies of the Strawberry Supermoon Solstice Portal, there’s magick in the air! So, this card cautions you to be careful what you wish for because right now, your thoughts are creating your reality at an accelerated rate. It’s a great time for personal development, healing and focusing on what you want to manifest for yourself and your life because there’s great potential for miraculous change and demonstrations of abundance in all areas of your life. But far from being a challenge to read, it’s a dream because it follows the traditional Rider-Waite system of meaning. Let’s explore! The Ace of Pentacles represents the dominant energy influencing us at the moment. This card represents the potential we can tap into over the next few days. And the Ace of Pentacles speaks to us of success and abundance. This might be financial, but it might also be in your sense of meaning and satisfaction in life. There’s opportunity for increased contentment, security and wealth! If you’re thinking of starting a new hobby, looking for a new job or exploring the possibility of setting up your own busines, now might be a good time to at least start learning the skills you’ll need. It could be a good time to take a course that will improve your career or take your hobby to the next level. The second card offers us the key to the promise of the first card. This represents the energy that we should focus on to align us more closely with the first and to manifest the blessings and potential. Today, this is The Chariot. It recommends us to balance our intentions and drives; maintain some focus and don’t allow yourself to be swayed too much by what’s going on around you. Stay in your lane and stay the course. But also, stay present: there might be a tendency for your mind to wander or your actions to be confused and inconsistent because you’re trying to do too much at once, and if you give into it, your progress may be underwhelming! You can choose where you put your attention and you’ll find you naturally steer towards it as long as you maintain that focus. The final card is the 4 of Wands and in this position, it cautions us against hastiness and arrogance. It’s not time to rest on your laurels just yet! That time is coming, but it’s not right now.
