July 2021 Musings... 28th July 2021…I’ve started my personal preparations for the Golden Goddess Lammas Portal Intensive (starting in 3 days)! I’m working with the Solar Goddess Radiance energy each morning, and Nature Deva & Fairies in the evening (I find it a very grounding energy so it’s perfect for evening). I’ve decided I’ll be focusing on gratitude and integration of the healing work, business work & re-branding of this blog for this year’s Lammas festival. Focusing on assimilating the energetic shifts of recent change in order to align with further progress. Celebrating the seasonal changes by tapping into their magickal potential can be a great way to check in with yourself and consider your direction. But the Lammas Portal can also be used as a “general influence” working for healing, manifesting abundance or simply to open yourself to the blessings of the great mother goddess as Freya. I’ve worked a lot more with Freya over the last 12 months and I’m really feeling her presence and influence, not only in my work, but in my home and personal life. I’m honoured to facilitate that spiritual connection for others and to magickally open new opportunities for progress, prosperity and peace for clients all around the world. X But today, let’s check in with the energies at play to see how we might best tap into the natural ebb and flow of the etheric currents. I’ve chosen the Pre-Raphaelite Tarot from Lo Scarabeo for this reading. Let’s explore… The dominant influence over the coming days is reflected in the 8 of Pentacles. This card recommends us to pursue excellence through repetition and practice. Hone your skills through diligence and consistency in your work. Whatever you’re applying yourself to right now, whether it’s your job, a craft or hobby, or leaning something new, you can accede to a higher level of skill and accomplishment by putting all of your energy and attention into the task at hand. When you work towards your goals studiously and deliberately, you’re sending a message to the universe about what you really want in life, and the universe always responds! The second card offers us the key to accessing the blessings of the first card and today, this comes in the form of the Page of Wands. In this position, this card represents the part of yourself that seeks fun, frivolity and fast-living! The Page of Wands can be a bit reckless and perhaps a bit shallow too. But the positive aspects of this archetype can be allowing your free-spirit to shine; tap into your innovative side and you may find new ways to do things. Even as you work hard and focus, the Page of Wands energy can ensure you don’t get too bogged down in the details or too caught up in perfectionism. The final card tells us the potential blocks and challenges we may face in our pursuit of the promises of the first card. And today, this card is the 7 of Wands. This could be considered the card of potential blocks and challenges! It’s about that feeling of being backed into a corner and forced to up your game because circumstances are testing you. You may gain a lot, but you may also pay a hefty price for that kind of growth. This card can also reflect past trauma or the patterns you learnt in order to cope with difficulties. In context with the first two cards, this might indicate a tendency to overwork or to block yourself from growth through a lack of self-belief. To avoid allowing the adversity you’ve faced in the past restricting your development in the future, keep your attention focused on the Page of Wands energy. He is enthusiastic, hopeful and inspired! All things are possible! You can be original and do it your own way. If you feel self-doubt creeping in, think about the Page of Wands cheering you on! He believes you can do it! And it’s coincided beautifully with a break from the heatwave too! This morning, I’m feeling very chilled in all respects and looking forward to tonight’s ritual work. Let’s see what’s on the cards for the next few days. Today I’m drawing from the Tarot of the Magical Forest… The greatest influence, offering the most progressive opportunities and energies to work with, comes in the form of the Knight of Cups. He represents the part of us that seeks spiritual insight & higher truths. He’s on a mission to uncover the meaning and poetry written into the fabric of the universe! The Knight of Cups pursues the sacred and allows his intuition to guide him. Aligning your energy with the archetype of the Knight of Cups might be done through writing poetry, connecting with a creative pursuit, spending time in meditation near water, or through a spiritual practice such as ritual or energy healing. The cards offer us a key to unlock this potential in the form of the Queen of Pentacles. This card doesn’t surprise me at all as she’s been stalking me for the best part of this month! This card (for me) represents the Goddess of Love, Freya. The upcoming Lammas Portal Intensive will be focused on Freya and promises to be a powerful ritual. But additionally, this card speaks of home, security, self-care and taking pleasure in our creature comforts. Deliberately taking pleasure in your surroundings can be a great grounding experience! Taking care of your home can also be a powerful and magickal process because you’re creating an energetic construct with meaning to enhance the material construct of the building: you’re making a house into a home! Lammas Portal energy expresses this celebration of this magickal process that plays out in all areas and aspects of our lives when we consciously choose to put our energy into things! Aligning with the energy of the season and magickal potential of Goddess of the Heart, the Hearth, the Home & Happiness will help us to become more aware of the places in our lives that we’ve invested with special meaning & power; it will also remind you of the central role you play in deciding your destiny! We can’t control everything in life, but life feels less daunting when you remind yourself of the things you can control. The final card tells us what we should avoid over the coming days. This card represents the potentially negative influences that might block us from the promise of the first card. Today this is reflected in the 6 of Wands. This card is about having your accomplishments witnessed and celebrated by those around you. It’s shadowy side is the need for applause, recognition and external validation; or the ego’s tendency to attach special significance to a goal/accomplishment that makes you think you are better than other people. The warning here is not to let your ego get all caught up in your business right now! Don’t fall into the trap of comparing yourself to others or judging the people around you. If you allow yourself to become that kind of person, you may end up in denial of your limitations and therefore incapable of healing and rising from them! There’s a place for ego when it comes to manifesting our higher will; but when the ego is out of balance, our intuition is switched off, doubted and critiqued by our judgemental minds, and we fall into disharmony, suffering & sickness. So, at this point in the turning of the wheel of the year, the Lammas Portal energy can help us to find and create a place in the world that nourishes the spirit and helps you to connect with your soul in your own unique way, in a safe and comfortable space. This deck was the first deck I purchased that wasn’t based on the Rider-Waite system and was built with existing artwork rather than art that was produced with the meanings of the cards in mind. That can be a distraction with some decks, but Lo Scarabeo seem to do it so well! And the style and energy of the artwork in the Ceccoli really captures me. Let’s take a look at what’s coming up next… The dominant energy over the coming days is reflected in the Lovers card; this card can represent a romantic interest or the fulfilment of spiritual love. Perhaps you’ll be meeting your soul-mate? Or taking an existing relationship to a deeper level? Or, perhaps you’re being called to nurture yourself and develop a deeper and more spiritually fulfilling relationship with yourself. The idea of self-love can feel strange at first. We don’t always have much of an understanding of love when we set out to love ourselves. Our early attempts can feel more like indulging ourselves than nourishing the soul and leave us wondering if we’re secretly hedonistic! Perhaps a better way to consider the expression of self-love is to think about the qualities we extend to those we love and look for ways to extend those expressions of love to ourselves. Perhaps devote a day to “self-compassion”, “self-kindness” or “self-encouragement”. Our early ideas about love often centre around romantic love – but the deeper spiritual love experience only comes to those that have learnt to love themselves first. The full moon is the perfect time to align with your emotional side. The second card offers us ideas of how we can tap into the promise and potential of the first card. And today this is reflected in the 5 of Cups. This card reminds you that it’s important to face your problems and admit your true feelings to yourself. This isn’t an invitation to wallow in self-pity! But if you’re feeling sad, upset or anxious, give yourself some space to have those feelings. Turn off your phone and give yourself your full attention in the way you would for a friend. Turning to yourself for comfort, and then allowing yourself to feel comforted is potent and sacred ritual. Deep healing and a sense of wholeness can be found in the coming days if we prioritise our emotional and spiritual needs. And finally, the card that represents the possible obstruction we might face is reflected in the Chariot. This card can represent the ability to control the emotions and in this shadowy position can represent the tendency to repress, deny or bottle-up emotions. So the biggest and most likely impediment to our spiritual progress in the coming days comes from our own ego and need to control ourselves or our lives in unrealistic and self-harming ways. Perhaps you’re too focused on what other people think or keep telling yourself you don’t have time for healing right now! If you feel like you don’t have time to look after yourself, that means you really need to look after yourself! So look for an opportunity to take a pause and prioritise connection with yourself. Good energies to work with for this would be: Quan Yin’s Compassionate Heart Healing, The Crystal Rose, and the Love Flush Empowerments. This is the card that indicates to me, now’s a good time to focus on self- healing and integrating recent experiences by giving yourself a bit of extra attention. No one else can do that for you and maybe it will look chaotic and messy, but it will be authentic and it will be your uniquely beautiful and blessed way of being you. This reading looks at the dominant energies and opportunities open to us over the coming days, and offers ideas on how we might best align with them for the purpose of manifesting a progressive, inspirational & meaningful life! So, let’s dive in and see what direction the universe has for us… The principle energy we can align ourselves with to enhance our spiritual journey right now is expressed in the 6 of Cups. This card represents connection with the inner-child and calls us to re-parent ourselves and provide ourselves with the spiritual and emotional nourishment we may have lacked in childhood. If your parents were busy, absent, or challenged by circumstances, illness, addiction or unhealthy attachment styles, consciously providing yourself with the support and encouragement you lacked can help to heal insecurities and low self- esteem. As children, we’re vulnerable to the projections of those around us, especially those in authority. I ended up busier with magickal workings than I’d anticipated, but I’ve got a flexible schedule! I didn’t make as much progress on the new website as I’d intended, but I still made progress & the new site’s going to be gorgeous! Feeling the pull of Lemuria, I reached for the Sun and Moon Tarot for today’s guidance for the collective because it was the deck I worked with most during my Dolphin Healing intensive. Let’s explore! Wonderful news! The Ace of Cups is the dominant energy we can tap into over the coming days for our benefit and blessings! And this card takes blessings to a whole new level! The chalice can represent the holy grail and the fulfilment of desire. YES! Your wishes can come true! And YES! - they might do it this week! So YES! You should be open to that possibility! Now, we’re not talking about you just getting what you think you want; we’re talking about manifesting the opportunities and changes that will bring you healing, peace and real happiness. We’re talking about the manifestation of change an opportunity that will bring you into a deeper alignment with your true, authentic self. Often our egos get attached to things we think we want but ultimately, even if we acquire those things or achieve those goals, we find they look right, but don’t feel right. The Ace of Cups is about acquiring the pure pleasure and deep contentment of spiritual fulfilment. How might we best be open to this auspicious energy? The cards can give us a clue… …and that clue comes in the form of the 3 of Wands. In this deck this card is subtitled “Virtue” and this reminds us to stay true to ourselves and focused on our intentions. Don’t allow others to sway you from your vision and goals. Staying in your lane might be the best strategy over the next few days. If you have to spend time around people who are negative, toxic or just like talking about their problems a lot, it may be a good idea to prepare yourself mentally for those encounters in advance to avoid taking on the negative energy they put out. Especially if you’re an empath or healer! Archangel Gabriel’s Empath Encoding or the Light Sanctuary Activation would be great techniques to keep your energy protected. And finally, the card that represents the potential impediment to the flow of spiritual blessings, beauty and brilliance is the Emperor. The positive aspects of this card are expansion, development and the gaining of skills through determination, focus and strength. It can also indicate routines, strategising and discipline. In its shadow- aspect (which is what we’re looking at here), it can indicate controlling attitudes and behaviour. It can mean making your days so full, you don’t have time for yourself. It can also mean getting your ego too focused on what you think you know that you stop learning and growing. There’s a balance to be made over the next few days! We can be open to growth, healing and spiritual satisfaction if we avoid letting our egos (or the egos of those around us) dictate our priorities and ambitions. I’ve chosen the Star Spinner Tarot for today’s reading. It’s got a really art-deco feel that I love, but in places leans quite “anime- esque” – which I also love! Let’s dive in and see what guidance the universe has for the us over the coming days. As always, if these words resonate with you, take them with you; but if they don’t, leave them behind. It’s my intention that this guidance will reach the right people at the right time and in the right way. And with that, let’s explore… The dominant energetic influence over the coming days is represented by the 10 of Pentacles. I love this card because it features a dog! And as a chihuahua mother, when my dogs are happy, I’m happy! For me, pets in general represent the positive aspects of domestication. They epitomise the cosy foundation we create in the world: our centre of operations. When we make a house a home, we’re filling it with meaning and charging it with energy that nourishes, nurtures and empowers us when we step out into the world. A well-made home can act as a battery back-up that recharges us when we’re feeling depleted. Additionally, this card can represent financial stability and consistent work; there could be good news on the job front, or a period of high activity if you run your own business! But right now, it’s a good idea to make time to consider the areas of your life that you find grounding and security in. Allow yourself to feel safe and content by reflecting on the part you play in creating a meaningful space for yourself in the world.
