Welcome back to the blog! Today I want to talk to you about your art…that may seem a bit of a departure from my usual content, but bear with me! If you’ve ever explored energy healing, you’ve probably noticed that there isn’t just one way to do it. There are many flavours of energy to choose from: Usui Reiki to Crystal Healing, Starseed Energies to Angelic Frequencies, and comprehensive systems that connect with the Elements, Chakras, Planets and Animal Medicine. Energy healers work with multiple energy healing modalities - and there’s a reason for that!

Where Do You Start? Guidance

for Choosing Your Perfect Energy

Healing System…

I often receive inquiries about which energy healing system a person should start their healing practice with, and although I can make recommendations, the best option for any student is the energy healing system they feel intuitively drawn to at that time. The best energy healing modality for you, is the one you want to work with! And over time, your needs and goals will change and other modalities may call to you. Going with your intuition is the best option; but early on in your healing journey you may not be very receptive to those promptings. Working with a variety of energy healing techniques can strengthen your intuition and other spiritual gifts over time. Energy healing isn’t just a copy and paste technique though; it’s an artistic and spiritual expression. Just as a painter wouldn’t limit themselves to a single colour, an energy healer doesn’t restrict themselves to a single energy frequency. Instead, we weave together different frequencies, vibrations, and healing tools to create a practice that is uniquely our own. Energy healing is an art, and it’s your creativity and your unique blend of energetic frequencies that combine to express your art. So today, let’s dive into why energy healers work with multiple modalities, and how different energies are like colours on a painter’s palette, allowing us to fine-tune our healing work.

Energy Healing as an Art:

Blending Light Frequencies Like

Colours on a Canvas…

Imagine an artist standing in front of a blank canvas. They have an entire palette of colours in front of them - reds, blues, yellows, and every shade in between. Each colour holds its own unique energy, depth, and meaning, and the artist selects different hues to bring their vision to life. Their experience with different colours helps them to blend different shades together to create completely unique colours, and over time, the image they have in their mind can be expressed on the canvas through their skill, imagination and technique. Energy healing works the same way! As healers, we fine tune the healing experience by working with different energetic frequencies, much like an artist blends colours to achieve the perfect shade, so we blend different energies within a healing session for a completely unique expression. Some energies feel warm and uplifting, while others are cool and calming. Some are deep and transformative, while others are light and expansive. No two healers will express their energy work in exactly the same way because each of us is drawn to the frequencies that resonate with our individual souls. And each session will be unique as we learn to connect with our intuition in order to select the perfect energies for that particular session.

Spectrum Healing Energy…

If you’ve ever studied Usui Reiki, you might have heard it described as “full spectrum healing energy.” Much like pure white light contains all the colours of the rainbow, Usui Reiki carries the entire energetic spectrum, so it naturally flows where it’s needed, adapting to different healing situations. It is often considered a foundational energy healing modality because it provides a solid base for working with energy. It also has a structured application method and symbols that can be a great confidence builder for new energy healers as their intuition slowly awakens. But just as an artist may start work with a single colour and then follow their intuition and imagination to the best colours to accompany it, so an energy healer can start out with a single energy frequency, and build upon it with other modalities to fine- tune their healing expression.

While Usui Reiki offers broad- spectrum healing, other energy healing modalities focus on specific vibrational frequencies that can be used for more targeted healing. Here’s why healers incorporate different energies into their practice:

Each person, situation, and emotional state vibrates at a different frequency. Just like you wouldn’t use only one colour in a painting, energy healers use different modalities to match the energetic needs of a client or situation.

Just like artists have favourite colours and styles, energy healers have personal energetic signatures that draw them to specific frequencies. As a healer you often end up working with half a dozen different modalities regularly – and then are intuitively called to blend in other modalities as the situation demands. Some healers feel deeply connected to Earth-based energies, while others resonate more with high- vibrational celestial frequencies. By working with multiple modalities, healers can build a practice that aligns with their soul’s purpose and natural gifts.

Finding Your Unique Healing

If you’re an energy healer, or thinking about becoming one, remember that your healing practice is a reflection of YOU. There’s no “one right way” to work with energy. Some healers prefer to focus solely on Usui Reiki, allowing the full spectrum energy to guide them. Others feel drawn to Lemurian Healing, Angelic Reiki, or Planetary energies to express their unique spiritual connection. The key is to explore and find what resonates with your soul. Begin by working with a few modalities so that your intuition develops, and you will feel the draw to other energies as they become beneficial to you.
